Birk
the Life Coach
What inspired me to be a life coach is to help people through the same struggles I’ve been through. From overcoming childhood trauma and shaking bad habits, to finding yourself and building meaningful relationships.
Each choice we make determines our future, and no one has prepared us for it. You don’t exactly learn how to live meaningfully in school. Figuring it all out on your own would be overwhelming for anyone. I’m very grateful for those who guided me on my way.
Much has changed over the years
I grew up spending every minute of my time escaping into fictional worlds and fantasies. Video games, anime, and listening to music for hours. (I was a big metal head; if it wasn’t black and didn’t have skulls on it, I wouldn’t wear it.)
Now I meditate, appreciate silence, and feel as present as I can in my body and life. (and I even wear colors!!)
I used to really hate myself. My parents often saw me as a burden, and I thought that if I were just better, then they could finally love me.
Now I love myself, after painfully letting that wish go. I’m my own best friend, very grateful to myself for always trying to do what’s best for me, and am really proud of myself.
I always thought change had to happen quickly and that I was so far behind in life. I always took extreme routes to get to my goals immediately.
Now I appreciate the journey. I’m grateful to do a little bit every day and see the results slowly build up over the years. Maybe that’s something you can only understand as you get older.
At my core
Something that hasn’t changed is that I’m still determined to make the most of the life given to me. It has been anything but easy, but all that did was inspire me to want it even more. What started as a desperate attempt at escaping reality, when I tried to become a god at 14, more to that in my Dream Journal (coming soon), has now turned into a slow and steady ambition to keep growing through clarity, mindfulness, and healthy habits.
As a highly sensitive person growing up with parents who were always on edge, I’ve developed quite a gift for knowing what’s going on inside a person, even when they don’t say it. While I had to pay the price for it, it’s now my most valuable gift. People I work with frequently tell me that they feel very understood and seen. Combined with my practical experience in most areas of life and wellbeing, I genuinely believe I can help you on your way, as I’ve helped many people who were struggling like you before.
I also want to express a heartfelt thank you to you for not only having the courage to start looking for help, but also that you’ve showed enough interest in me to read through my bio. That scared kid with the metal shirts, who couldn’t express how he feels, is really happy right now.
